The majority of funding for our programs comes from individuals and private donations. Your generosity allows us to provide shelter, food, counseling and other services necessary for people to overcome homelessness.
Freedom House is a nonprofit organization (501-C-3). All monetary donations, appreciated stocks or tangible goods are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Cash donations are greatly needed and always accepted. All gifts will be acknowledged within two weeks of receipt.

Donations by mail If you would like to mail a contribution, please make your check payable to Freedom House and send it to Freedom House, 1201 Hull Street, Richmond, VA 23224.
Appreciated stocks Are you interested in contributing to Freedom House with appreciated stocks? Please call Bob Giles with Davenport & Company at 780-2025.
Bequests If you are drafting or revising a will, consider naming Freedom House as a beneficiary of your estate. This is a meaningful way to continue your legacy through support of Freedom House and its programs.
Honorary and memorial gifts What better way to honor friends, family, and loved ones than by making a donation in their memory? A Freedom House representative will gladly notify the honoree of your generous gift in his or her name.
United Way Campaigns Richmond area residents may designate Freedom House to receive funds through private, local, state, and federal United Way campaigns. Our codes are:

Matching gifts Most companies offer as part of their benefits package a matching gifts program that will match in whole or part your donations to nonprofit organizations.
