From the very beginning, Freedom House has relied on help from a large, diverse group of Richmond congregations. Today, nearly 95 different groups representing every denomination pitch in at Freedom House. Some cook and serve meals at The Conrad Center, while others provide dinner for residents at The Community Shelter.
Richmond is home to many companies with big hearts. Company officials say volunteering helps build morale, develops employee loyalty, and creates a sense of community.
Our most dedicated volunteers are individuals who want to make a difference. They take on a variety of jobs, from helping with special projects, tutoring computer skills, to simply letting a resident know that someone cares. Individuals also help sell our pins and, our newest item - the Beach Butler™, at area craft shows and provide assistance with the 43rd Street Festival of the Arts fundraiser held every September. If you would like to get involved, please contact Christy Ellis at 233-4064 ext. 209.

Freedom House began selling the House and Women’s pins in 1991. Since that time, the pins have been a wonderful fundraiser for us. In 2006, we added the Beach Butler™. They are a wonderful gift for the beach lover or nature lover in your life. If you would like to help us sell these items at one of the Bizarre Bazaar events, at other local events, or if you would like to sell the Beach Butlers™ at your own gift shop please contact Christy Ellis.
